Pascale started her own mindfulness practice as a result of her search for a way to deal with illness. As her commitment to the practice deepened, which both enhanced and transformed her life, her desire to share grew stronger. As a result, she pursued an MSc in 'Mindfulness Based Approaches' at the university in Bangor, Wales. As well as teaching 8-week mindfulness courses for the general public, Pascale co-developed and teaches on the Post-graduate Certificate and Diploma in Mindfulness-Based Practice and the Masters in Mindfulness and Well Being (mindfulness teacher training course) in University College Cork. This includes the development of mindfulness for children and for teens programmes.
She is a trained mindful self-compassion teacher with the Centre for Mindful Self-Compassion lead by Christine Neff as well as a qualified mindfulness-teacher-supervisor.
Pascale studied trauma sensitive Mindfulness and advanced trauma sensitive mindfulness with David Treleaven.
Pascale is a member of Mindfulness Teachers Association Ireland and works within the ethical and professional guidelines for mindfulness teachers, supervisors and teacher trainers.
Pascale holds an MSc in Child and Family Studies (General Remedial Education) with a focus on children with behaviour difficulties and special needs (University of Louvain, Belgium).
Pascale has taught for many years in adult education as well as in a special needs school for children with severe to profound learning disabilities and autism. Mindfulness has become an integral part of her interactions with the children in the school.
She lives on Mount Hillary, in the beautiful country-side of North Cork, Banteer.
'Mindfulness and self-compassion have taught me to listen to my own experiences with a deep kindness, warmth and curiosity, allowing me to turn towards difficulties and respond with more ease, giving me the capacity to live a full and rich life again.
Warmth, kindness, clear reflection and some humour are important ingredients of this way of life as well as of the courses I teach."
weaving life mindfully
Born in Brussels, Belgium, I grew up surrounded by tapestries in the heart of European tapestry making. I am mostly self-taught yet I picked up knowledge and skills from Becky Ashenden, US, Siegen Webshule, Germany and the long distance Diploma in Art – Tapestry Weaving course in TAFE, Warnambool, Australia.
I moved to Ireland in 1998 where I set up my own weaving practice. I wanted to explore creating tapestries inspired by my ancestors and contemporary tapestry weavers such as Joan Baxter and Sarah Swett.
Weaving tapestries has become a way to express my experience and understanding of what it means to be human and living this life on earth.
